Love Kneels Down

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…”

Love Kneels Down is the story of our simple, relational, kneeling-down-in-the-dirt ministry. We believe in the incredible example that Jesus Christ set before us–to wash each other’s feet, to love one another, to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and to simply touch one another with the love of the Holy Spirit–and we pray earnestly that the simple ministry we do can be an accurate reflection of Christ on His knees washing feet.

We are Matthew and Megan McCleary, recently married and so excited to be serving the Lord and our city as husband and wife. We work with an organization called Church Volunteer Network, a small ministry that works to connect churches with outreach opportunities in Sacramento. We are passionate about outreach and mobilizing the church and Christians into God’s mission here in Sacramento, and along with that lies our biggest passion: discipleship. We love relational discipleship and we desperately want people to fall more and more in love with Christ. If at the end of the day after all the outreaches, discipling, and Bible studies the people we are ministering to don’t love God more, then what was the point?

We go out and meet people where they are at and we simply want them to feel the presence of God and be blessed. This blog is not our story, it’s the story of all the people we meet in the parks, on the street corners, in the apartment complexes, and in the churches. It is the story of how Jesus has made His dwelling here with us, in the world, in Sacramento. And because of His presence we are so richly blessed and we hope that these stories can be a blessing to you.

“From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another.”
